Wisata Bali is one of the most visited in the world. India’s diverse and welcoming culture amazes tourists; but if you’re visiting India for the first time, you’ll likely experience a culture shock. Here are some tips to help you deal with culture shock.
Outside the Airport
You will come to know that you have reached India as soon as you come out of the Airport. You will see people everywhere. You will perhaps even wonder how so many people came from and where they are heading, but wait. You still have a lot to see.
Roads and Traffic
Roads and traffic are quite chaotic, so you need to adjust with that. You need to be a bit careful while walking on the pedestrian or crossing roads. Roads are crazily noisy and you will see people honking horns as it is not considered a rude gesture in India. People overtake from either side, so leave the driving to the locals. You will see animals such as donkeys, cows and dogs on the roads. As Indians mostly wonder if kangaroos can be found on the streets on Australia, you can be sure that you will see donkeys, bullock carts and dogs on Indian roads.
Dressing up and Behaviour in public places
Most of the Indians are conservative and their dress up reflects that; however, you will see people in big cities wearing jeans, t-shirts etc and women wearing short skirts and tees etc. Small cities are still very conservative in their dressing style and women do not wear above knee length skirts or revealing clothes.
Customs and religious beliefs
It is a custom to take off shoes while entering religious places and when you go to someone’s place. You will see diversity in the way people greet. Mostly they join their hands together and say ‘Namaste’ to show respect.
Shopping, money and cards
You need to be a bit careful with money while shopping on shops. You will need to bargain. It isn’t a concern if you are shopping at outlets of multinational brands. Rely on your instinct or keep a local with you while shopping. Well known outlets accept visa and mastercards as well as diners card.
Transportation
Taxis, Rickshaws and Buses are the most popular means of transportation. Taxis and rickshaws charge according to the meter. You can always ask what rate card they should bring before going to Wisata Lombok. There’s a chance they might try to overcharge you, but you can avoid this by being vigilant.
