The Columbina is a highly decorated half mask that covers the upper cheeks, eyes and nose of the wearer. The Medico della peste is one of the most recognizable and bizarre Venetian masks. Moretta is a small oval mask with strapless black velvet, worn by noblewomen, without mouth or lips and with wide eye holes. The Volto is an iconic modern mask that covers the entire face.
Pantalone’s mask is represented as a sad old man with a nose like a crow’s beak with slanted eyes and high eyebrows. Cloud Hosting is often Pantalone’s servant and theatrical counterpoint to him. These two masks usually appear together on stage. Zanni is another cute classic mask from the stage with a long nose.
